Contributions for projects to enhance the Cultural Heritage of Lazio region!


Public Notice ‘Extraordinary Action Plan for the Enhancement of Theatres, Cinemas, Historic Buildings, Places of Worship, Archaeological and Recreational Sites in Lazio’.
Regional Law no. 23/2023, art. 7, paragraphs 3 and 3bis.
Regional Law No. 23 of 29 December 2023, entitled “Regional Stability Law 2024”, as subsequently amended and supplemented, provides that the Lazio Region shall enhance theatres, cinemas, historic buildings, places of worship, archaeological sites and recreational spaces in Lazio through restoration, renovation, extraordinary maintenance, safety improvements, removal of architectural barriers, renewal of furnishings, energy-efficiency upgrades and technological modernization of such facilities, whether publicly or privately owned, with a maximum expenditure ceiling of € 1.000.000,00 for each intervention within the same municipal area, with the possibility for Municipalities to purchase the facilities concerned.
Maximum grant available:
Up to 80% of the total eligible cost, and in any case no more than € 1 million per intervention.
Eligible applicants:
Public and private entities (legal persons only).
Asset requirements:
- The asset must be located in the Lazio Region;
- It must be used for cultural purposes for at least 80% of the year, in terms of time or capacity.
Eligible interventions:
- Extraordinary maintenance, safety improvements, building renovation, restoration and conservative rehabilitation works, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 380/2001, as amended and supplemented;
- Improvements to the accessibility and usability of venues, with particular attention to persons with physical, sensory or cognitive disabilities (e.g. ramps and lifts, Braille signage, tactile paths, etc.);
- Adaptation, fitting-out and renewal of furnishings;
- Technological modernization, including the acquisition of hardware equipment and digital technologies for the preservation, monitoring and enjoyment of cultural assets/sites, including the reorganization of internal and external communication systems;
- Installation and upgrading of systems, with particular reference to systems ensuring the safety and protection of the heritage assets concerned, as well as of staff and users (e.g. video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire prevention, air conditioning, air quality treatment and sanitization systems, etc.);
- Energy-efficiency improvements, with particular attention to materials and environmental sustainability in the techniques used for project implementation;
- Restoration of movable cultural assets integrated into the asset/site and of decorated surfaces of architectural heritage, excluding museum collections and other movable cultural assets not historically integrated with the asset/site;
- Purchase of the assets/sites by Municipalities.
In order to reach the maximum grant ceiling of €1,000,000.00, several project proposals submitted by different entities, whether public and/or private, within the same municipal area may be combined.
Deadline for submission of applications:
From 4:00 PM on 20 February 2026 until 4:00 PM on 16 April 2026.
